Session #29 — Should people be evangelized before they go to church or go to church because they’ve been evangelized?

This may seem like a strange question. But it gets to the heart of how we structure churches so that they are effective at reaching their communities for Christ.

When I've taught this course for graduate level students I've had everyone read The Celtic Way of Evangelism by George Hunter III. It's not a long book and it's not hard reading, but we don't have time to do that in this course. So, I am asking you to read a summary of it provided by Bookey. Perhaps you'll then consider purchasing the book and reading it on your own.

Once you've read the summary send me an email (bboydston@piu.edu) describing what you think are the implications of Dr Hunter's book for the way that churches approach evangelism. According to him, what will churches have to do differently to be evangelistically effective in our contemporary world? This assignment is worth 25 points.
